I’m not sure “getting out of the eggshell” (“saliendo del cascarón”) has the same meaning in English than it has in Spanish, or if it has any metaphorical meaning in English at all. In Spanish it refers to somebody’s approach, or arrival, to maturity and independence. Hence, highlighting that such person is growing from an emotional point of view.

Obviously, the sense of the cartoon is ironic… Because you’re spotting the irony, right? RIGHT???!!!
