The current number of jobless Spaniards is 5,965,400. That’s a record unemployment rate of 26%.

It’s only a matter of time before people start to lose their cool… or not.

Out of the egg

I’m not sure “getting out of the eggshell” (“saliendo del cascarón”) has the same meaning in English than it has in Spanish, or if it has any metaphorical meaning in English at all. In Spanish it refers to somebody’s approach, or arrival, to maturity and independence. Hence, highlighting that such person is growing from an emotional point of view.

Obviously, the sense of the cartoon is ironic… Because you’re spotting the irony, right? RIGHT???!!!

Cartoon inspired in a letter to Barack Obama published by the MIT Technology Review to highlight the importance of addressing climate change as soon as possible. The editors basically tell the President that “it’s not (just) the economy, stupid!” 😉
